Smart, Sweet & Affectionate Austyn

austyn adoptable dogMeet Austyn. Catahoula Leopard Dog + Australian Shepherd Mix
2 yrs old • Male • 42 pounds

I’m a super-smart boy who is sweet, affectionate, and playful. I’m housebroken, crate trained, great with other bigger dogs, enjoy a good game of fetch, am great at chasin’ cats, and am as loyal and protective as they come. See, that’s the reason I lost that valuable thing called a home. Once I had a family of my own I decided that I loved them so much that they didn’t need anyone else in their life. So I decided not to let strangers get too close, and sometimes I ‘d decide not to let that other little furry four legged companion get his fare share of love either…so that family decided that I needed a new home. Not because I did’t love them, but because I loved them a little too much. Who thought too much love could get ya in trouble huh? I need a home without small animals or children, where I can receive all the training and guidance I need to overcome my fears and learn to be better about sharing all this love. So here I am, hoping to find what I’ve lost.

2 years old-42lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Jake is ready to retire in the comfort of a loving home.

Jake adoptable dogMeet Jake. Labrador Retriever.
60lbs • Senior Adult • Male

Jake’s family had to relocate and a lovely person has taken him in so he didn’t have to go to the shelter but she really wants to find him a new forever home because he has to be kenneled while she is at work and she feels that it’s not the best for him. He is house trained, crate trained, and knows some basic obedience skills.

His health appears to be good although he’s a bit hard of hearing due to his age. He’s not a barker, is good with cats, kids and other dogs. He does need to be crated or confined if left alone as he has a little separation anxiety. A fenced yard is a must as he is a wanderer. Won’t you make room in your pack to give this old boy a few good years at your house, he will be forever grateful. He is 11 years old and weighs 60#.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application on our website at the Second Chance Companions website.

Meet the Handsome Einstein

einstein adoptable cat from furry friendsMeet Einstein. A Short Hair Tuxedo Cat.
Cat • Tuxedo • Young • Male • Medium
Einstein is a friendly, mellow boy. He loves catnip, treats, and checking out the highest places in the room. He is currently learning how to play, because either he never had time to learn or he has decided it is not an activity he wants to participate in.

Einstein is predisposed to developing crystals in his urine, so it is very important that he be on a special food to help prevent this.

Get fit and fall in love with Big Girl

big girl adoptable dogMeet B.G.. Dalmatian + Pointer Mix
8 yrs old • Female • 95 pounds

You like girls with beautiful curves, right? A little padding for the petting? I know when I see a Greyhound I’m like “someone get that dog a milk-bone”, you know what I’m saying?!? I got all the filling in all the right places- both inside and out! Good looks and a great big personality to match! I get along well with other dogs like me, but I am not a fan of cats or little dogs… They always be in my business and I be like “listen cha-huahua, I will step on you!”. And respectful children, I don’t mind them one bit as long as they understand how a Queen like me should be treated. I want to be treated with respect, I want everyone to know that I am the Queen of the castle. Don’t be fooled, I’ve still got energy to burn and I do like to work on my fitness, so walks around he neighborhood or some easy trail hiking would be good for me. And you best believe that I’m not only takin’ pride in myself but in my house too…so you know I keep my place clean. I also keep my place safe, real safe, my family too. Once you seen all the rest, come meet the best and get some of this Big Girl love.

8 years old- 95lbs(overweight). My adoption fee is $100 and includes; spay, microchip, reduced cost Training Class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Ella is a Beauty who would love to Snuggle

Ella adoptable dogMeet Ella. Chow/Golden Retriever Mix
50lbs • Adult • Female

Ella is a Chow/Golden Retriever Mix with a beautiful long coat. She is house and crate trained and lives mostly indoors. Ella has lived with her current owners since she was a puppy but is having difficulty adapting to the new baby. She seems to enjoy older kids so her owners think a home with kids over the age of 7 would work better for her. Ella is a sweet, playful, protective dog that likes to snuggle with her people, and she also enjoys running, going walking and hanging around outside.

She has lived with dogs and cats but her owners think she would be happier as an only pet. She does have a grain allergy so a grain-free diet is required. She is 4 years old and weighs 50#.

Callie is girl who loves to talk and loves people.

callie adoptable cat from furry friendsMeet Callie. A Domestic Short Hair Cat.
Female • Adult
Hi, my name is Callie. Have you noticed my gorgeous eyes? One is golden and the other is baby blue. My momma said this made me special. Just so you know, I love to talk and sometimes I talk just to hear my own voice. But mostly I talk to make sure you are paying attention to me. One of my favorite things in the whole wide world is to lie on your lap purring at the top of my lungs. My second favorite thing in the whole wide world is to be held in your arms and don¹t worry because even though I have a lot of fur, I am petite so carrying me around won¹t be too hard.

I really love humans, did I tell you that? They are really my first and most favorite thing in the whole wide world. I just need one that will be all mine.
